AIGA Design for Democracy “Get Out The Vote” Poster

For the 2008 elec­tion, AIGA con­tin­ued its Design for Democracy ini­tia­tive with twen­ty-four (24) new “Get Out The Vote” posters. DDP was hon­ored to have its “VOTE / VETO” sub­mis­sion select­ed from more than 240 sub­mis­sions as one of the final twen­ty-four. Our mes­sage was pow­er­ful, yet clear: a “Yes” vote can also be a “No” vote.

DDP designed University School’s 2006 Viewbook which is sent to par­ents of prospec­tive stu­dents. Our goal was to uni­fy their two cam­pus­es (sep­a­rat­ed by grades K–8 and 9–12) to under­score its con­tin­u­ous K–12 cur­ricu­lum, while also pre­sent­ing the read­er with a clear under­stand­ing of the dif­fer­ences between each cam­pus and grade. Once again, this year we pre­sent­ed an entire sea­son of six dis­tinct­ly dif­fer­ent plays to the pub­lic, in an even small­er pam­phlet for­mat than the pre­vi­ous year.

Marking its 100-year anniver­sary, Purdue Theatre at Purdue University engaged DDP for a third year to design and pro­duce its 2006-07 sea­son brochure and col­lat­er­al mate­ri­als. Our chal­lenge this year was to present an entire sea­son of six dis­tinct­ly dif­fer­ent plays to the pub­lic, while also explain­ing to view­ers that the the­atre itself was now oper­at­ing out of new facil­i­ties in the recent­ly com­plet­ed Visual and Performing Arts building.
